Lora

Lora Smith

I've been the director since September 2016. Previously, I worked at both the White Pine Middle and Park Elementary School libraries. I love to swim, hike, travel, and listen to audiobooks. I read in all ages and genres of books and love to connect people with books. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and children.

I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology from USU. I think kids are fantastic and interesting; maybe that's why junior fiction is my favorite genre to read. Memoirs and historical fiction are also up there on my favorite genres list.

The library has always been my happy place, a retreat from the world, and my dream "job"! I am the mother of 6 children, 3 of which were born since we moved to Richmond, we all love this amazing small town! Reading, like the library, is my escape. I currently devour audiobooks to stay sane and hope to someday find more time to read physical books again. My favorite genres are religious and historical fiction, plus young adult anything. Matching children (from 1-100 :) ) to a book just right for them is my favorite hobby and I do believe there is a book for everyone. I also collect math text books as a past secondary math teacher and enjoy the challenge and mystery genealogy presents.
